The NWC Middle School will be participating in a new sports league in the Fall of 2010.  We will be joining the Inland Empire Mid-level League for the 2010/2011 school year.  The IEML is made up of Northwood Middle School, Mountainside Middle School, St. Georges, Salk, Lakeside Middle School, Medical lake Middle School, Cheney Middle School, Riverside Middle School, Colville Jr. High, Deer Park Middle School, Halstead Middle School (Newport), Jenkins Middle School (Chewelah) and Kettle Falls.

Our sports season will change to the following:

Fall:  August 26th - October 23rd - XC and Softball (girls only)
Early Winter:  October 25th - December 17th - Volleyball (girls only) & Wrestling (boys only)
Late Winter:  January 5th - April 1st - Basketball 7th grade the first 6 weeks, 8th grade the second 6 weeks
Spring: April 11th - Baseball (boys only) & Track

We are excited about the opportunities that this new league will give our middle school students.  It will be nice to play games on school days and there should be fewer weekend conflicts.  The level of competition should better prepare our middle school athletes for high school competition.  As always, our goal for middle school sports is to build Christian character, sportsmanship, teamwork and skills.  Please pray that our IEML membership will be an opportunity for our middle school athletes to achieve these goals and to shine for Jesus Christ.
